Yes, I have a slight addiction to the Back to the Future trilogy. I have the movie poster in my bedroom, have written lyrics that I sing to the opening title sequence and have been heard using the term Great Scott. If you have not seen these movies yet, you have not truly lived. Get off your computer and go see them right now. Mainly because if you haven’t seen these movies this article will mean nothing to you.
This being said I am highly disappointed that we have not caught up to the technology we were expected to have in the movie. We are letting Hill Valley down! It is 2012 and we are nowhere near flying cars. According to Doc Brown I should be able to time travel in my own personal delorean by now. Sadly, I do not own a flux capacitor or have access to plutonium anyway so the subway will have to do for now.
Luckily I am able to get a slight Back to the Future fix with the release of a hover board replica from my favorite 80's movie. Today MattyCollector.com released a Back to the Future hover board available for purchase.
Calm down fellow nerds, sadly it doesn't actually get you off the ground. But it is movie accurate to scale looking exactly like the one Marty uses. It even makes a whooshing sound! (which totally makes up for the fact they couldn’t figure out how to make it really work.) For a mere $120 you can own your own part of futuristic history. You even get a mini 6 inch hover board that apparently is the perfect size for action figures, or Barbies that want to show off to those slutty Bratz dolls.
They may not fly but I’m sure it would be a great conversation starter. Who wouldn’t want to eat chips and dip off a hover board table at a party? Crank up the music to The Power of Love and have a marathon with Doc Brown and Marty McFly. That sounds like a good time to me. So go out and buy a hover board! It’s your density, I mean destiny.
