Vampires are everywhere these days. They seem to have become an epidemic and taken over the entertainment industry. So obviously the last thing we need is another vampire movie….. But what if that movie was about a bad-ass axe wielding former president?
This movie is based on one of the most important men in American History, Abe Lincoln. Based on the book Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith, this historical fantasy book tells off the fictitious upbringing of our 16th president. After his mother is stricken with a fatal disease and dies while Abe is still a young boy, he learns of the vampire problem in his town of rural Indiana. He vows to pledge the rest of his life to taking down the creatures that took his mother from him. His political career is greatly influenced by his passion for hunting vampires and he is set on making the nation a safer place for all citizens. This book will throw your perception of “Honest Abe” way out of the water. With several characters based off real people in Abe’s life, history takes a dramatic change in this thrilling story.
The Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter trailer has just hit the web, and it doesn’t look like it is going to disappoint. Don’t worry this is not some sparkly, romantic movie that will have tweens bawling over the characters in a mass hysteria. This is an action movie with heads being chopped off, war and presidential wrestling matches.
Usually I am disappointed by many movie adaptions of my favorite books but I have high hopes for this after seeing the trailer. With a producer like Tim Burton behind this project I believe it stands a chance to be a hit.
